OnSight Healthcare settles Medicare fraud charges for $4.5M

Posted on February 21, 2022April 12, 2022

OnSight Healthcare, a provider of podiatry, optometry, dentistry and auditory services to nursing homes, has agreed to pay $4.5 million to settle government charges it defrauded Medicare.

The settlement resolves allegations Mobile Medical, doing business as OnSight, billed Medicare for services and equipment not provided, worth less than claimed or ineligible for reimbursement.

The allegations against OnSight were brought under the qui tam provision of the False Claims Act in 2010.

Warner Mendenhall, the whistle-blower’s attorney, said “medical services companies seek competitive advantage by the behaviors the relator exposed. The federal government has proven it will force medical providers to play by the rules.”

Although the company agreed to this settlement, it has denied any wrongdoing.
